  • Other Christians will be familiar with the phrase "Speaking the Truth in love;" as far as I'm concerned, that sums up Narrate's Pastor Adam Huschka's teaching style. He presents the profound truth of God's Word in a way that immediately connects him to his listeners as a peer rather than a lecturer. Best of all, you leave actually THINKING about what he said and what it means for your life.

Narrate currently meets in the historic Grandstreet Theatre in downtown Helena. It's quaint, cozy (if it weren't for the two services each week, Narrate would easily outgrow this building), and immediately comfortable. The people who met us at the door were friendly, engaging, and down-to-earth. With very little urging, they escorted my wife and I on a full tour of the facilities (mostly to help orient us with the kids' ministry), and they never appeared rushed or as if they wanted to dump us off on anyone else. In short, they were there to serve (as we should ALL be).

The music was a bit loud and full of bass (although not overly "rocky"), but that suited my taste. The worship lyrics were thought-provoking and easy enough to pick up, despite the fact that I'd never heard the songs before.

My kids came away having participated in a full-fledged Bible lesson, my 7-year-old daughter explaining to me the Fall in the Garden of Eden and its repercussions on the earth as a whole, a concept that many adult Christians have trouble articulating, much less understanding.

I recommend this church to anyone, especially if you have kids and want an opportunity to actually BE God's Church in Helena.
